Today, very few Halmeonis are still alive. The bravest of them have borne witness to what hundreds of thousands have experienced. As the years go by, the voices of these women fade away one by one. The memory of these women and their traumas has been heard and proclaimed in their own countries, thanks to their speaking out and other various actions undertaken by society. In Western countries and Japan, their stories are little known or cleverly bypassed.

The question then arises: will the memory of these women die with them?
